Amazon.com Product Description The key to keeping off excess weight is to build lean, fat-burning muscle. Enter the FreeForm Hideaway Gym, a compact yet fully featured device that perfects the core bodybuilding movements necessary to build a strong, lean body. The Hideaway Gym supports three main body positions. When facing forward, you can perform such exercises as tricep extensions, chest dumbbell flies, chest presses, and abdominal curls, helping you work a variety of upper body muscles. When facing in, the machine lets you perform bicep curls, upright rows, upper lat rows, lower back rows, and more. Finally, you can perform exercises in the standing position, with exercise options that include leg press, glute and inner thigh presses, and calf flexions. All told, the Hideaway Gym offers all the exercises you'll find on more expensive TV-promoted home gyms but at a far more affordable price. The Hideaway Gym also makes it easy to change your resistance level thanks to the patented quick-change resistance bands. Just select the bands you wish to engage for the exercise--no complicated cable changes or stubborn weight stacks. And with a resistance range that varies from as low as 10 pounds to a maximum of 200 pounds, almost anyone can use the machine to build strength and burn fat. Best of all, the machine breaks down in less than a minute and folds almost flat (5 inches off the ground), so you can easily slide it under a bed or store it in a closet. It's the perfect home gym for space-conscious users who don't want to sacrifice functionality. Also ideal for rehab, the Hideaway Gym comes with a professionally produced workout chart and carries a five-year limited warranty. About James Design Company Founded in 1988 in a small manufacturing facility in Southern New Jersey, James Design Company has been manufacturing and designing innovative fitness equipment for more than 20 years. The company released its patented 3-Dimensional Arm system in 1991, helping change the thought process of how chest, back, arm, and shoulder exercises should be performed. The free-floating arms and straps that people see on many gym machines today--which allow for a free range of motion for your entire body--stem from the James Design Company's original ideas. The company's latest product, the FreeForm Hideaway Gym, is intended to once again revolutionize the fitness industry. Sold completely assembled, the machine does away with time-consuming changeovers between exercises, and folds up in seconds for easy storage. Most importantly, the machine delivers a club-quality, full-body cardio/strength-training workout. The James Design Company is located in Milmay, New Jersey.
Product Description The FreeForm Hideaway Gym is the most efficient core body building exercise machine that is on the market today. Use it to build strength and burn fat. The patented quick change resistance bands allow the user from beginner through serious weight trainer to easily perform a complete strength training workout. It comes completely assembled, and easily folds flat for storage. It comes with an effective and professionally produced workout chart that shows the gym position for each body part workout. The user can perform the same exercises as much more expensive TV promoted home gyms without the need for complicated cable changes. This will allow the user to perform a complete body workout in less time, and then stow the gym away in a closet or easily fits under most beds. This gym can also be used by seniors for a more gentle muscle exercise and stretching. It is great for rehab as well.

Efficient, muscle pumping, cardio home gym March 15, 2009 Steven L. Card (Nebraska USA) 29 out of 30 found this review helpful
Review: I have had to exercise most of my 59-year-old life because of scoliosis in my spine. I have been able to maintain flexibility in back in this way. I look constantly for the "ultimate home gym". Of course, it isn't out there yet. I have had two Bowflex, numerous free weight and body weight gyms. I have used elastic cord machines and rubber band machines as well. I usually never give a review, but the FreeForm Hideaway Gym is one of the best, most efficient pieces of equipment I have ever owned. The FreeForm squat exercise is unique and probably the safest I've seen. I can move through eleven exercises within minutes and experience probably the best, real "cardio-strength" workout I have ever had on a home gym. I love the FreeForm Hideaway Gym. Is it the "ultimate home gym"? All I know is that I will never need to buy another home gym.
There is one caveat. "Never dismount the FreeForm when you have tension on the bands." The machine will slide. That should be a warning that comes with the gym.

ASIN:ASIN FreeForm Hideaway Home Gym
I am a 69 year old woman who doesn't understand all the technical/mechanical/etc... workings
that make one exercise machine better than another but I do know if something works for me. That
something has been the FreeForm Hideaway Home Gym. Throughout my early years I joined various gyms
and enjoyed working out in that environment at that time. Now at my age maintaining my weight and
keeping fit and flexible is even more important if I intend to remain active inspite of having to
deal with the pain and stiffness of arthritis and spinal deterioration in my lower back. Since
going to a gym was no longer appealing I began looking for a good exercise maching to use in the
privacy of my own home at my convenience. I became aware of the FreeForm Hideaway Gym through friends
and since they considered it an excellent home gym for my needs I checked it out for myself. I liked
the exercise demonstration and explanation of what muscles were being worked on during each position
given me. After trying some of the exercises myself I was sold on the machine and its price.
I've had my FreeForm Hideaway Gym for over a year now and I can tell you it is the very best
exercise equipment I have ever used. The exercise straps and bars move smoothly. That free flowing
movement is very important to me as is the ability to change resistance bands quickly and with little
interruption to my routine. The exercise chart that comes with the machine provides a good visual
guide for each position. I really appreciated having it to refer to especially beginning the exercises.
It has been easy for me to remain dedicated to my routine because the exercises do not take long to
complete and since I'm home I can, fold the machine flat, roll it out of sight, and get on with the
day's chores and activities without any hassle-- a really big plus.
One more thing I would like to mention is that this gym and the workout I do has not only helped
maintain my weight and flexibility, it has more importantly alleviated the lower back pain I suffered
with and doctored for, for years. The specific exercise prescribed for me by James Deola, the
inventor of the FreeForm Gym, initially reduced and then alleviated my back pain three months after
using the machine. I spent years going to one chiropractor after another, trying one treatment after
another, and spending lots of money for temporary relief. Consequently, I highly recommend this machine
to everyone, men and women alike, regardless of goals you hope to achieve. It is a sturdy, compact
machine which provides an outstanding workout. The levels of resistance experienced by changing the bands
will blow you away. You have to try it to believe it. The machine is a steal for the quality and price.
Freeform Hideaway Home Gym April 14, 2010 Flash (Maryland) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
In my quest to find a nice compact home gym, I came across the Freeform. The video was simple and to the point and it seemed like a well thought out machine. I have never owned a band resistance type machine before but have owned a medical grade total gym and other bench/free weight machines. For the price, I thought I couldn't go wrong and gave it a shot. I wanted something compact, simple to use, functional, and if I didn't use it, be able to store it away and not become a large bulky coat rack like my other machines in the middle of my room.
I read some of the positive reviews from other forums and with the price Amazon was offering with my free 2 day shipping, I figured I couldn't go wrong. In 2 days, I received one large box. I opened it up and was able to carry the machine down my stairs into my basement. It took me about 10 mins to put a few pieces together and I had the machine up and running. I wanted to give an honest review so I waited a couple months of using the machine before this review.
In my opinion, the Freeform Home Gym is money well spent. It is one of the most practical and easy to use weight machines I have ever owned or used. It does everything that I need it to. It is actually fun to use because I can get a good workout in a shorter amount of time. It is a well thought out machine that makes your workout very efficient. I like the fact that you can do several type of motions/movements without ever getting up from the machine. The rubber resistance bands are simple to use and change on the fly and the Freeform has enough total resistance for me. I am 5-9, 180 and consider myself an athlete. If you like lifting heavy weights and can easily bench 250lbs, this machine will not be for you.
For a good upper body workout, chest, arms and shoulders, this machine exceeds. I still use free weights for a bicep workout as I think the freeform is limited in motion for this body part. As far as a lower body workout, I have always been an advocate of squats. The freeform takes a little time to get used to but once you get the technique, it provides a more than adequate lower body workout. Initially I didn't realize I could move the lower foot support out to make it longer so initially it was awkward trying to get underneath the bar. Once I moved it out to the desired distance, it was effective. I don't believe there were any instructions stating such. I got a single sheet of paper showing how to attach a few parts and a laminated poster showing different exercises.
The machine is easy to manuever. You can pick up one end and the other end has rollers. I can easily move this to a position so I can watch my tv while working out if I wanted to. It folds in seconds and you can tuck it away as the video shows.
So, all in all, a fantastic machine for the money! I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone who is tight on a budget, wanting something compact, looking for a simple and easy machine to use, and wants to get an effective and good workout.
Very sturdy equipment April 5, 2010 Annette M. Shadiack (Somerset, NJ United States) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought the FreeForm Home Gym as a low impact way to rehab a knee injury. I have been using it for about 2 months now and not only has my knee improved but my thighs and rear have also slimmed down. Squats are never fun to do, but the FreeForm Home Gym helps to stabilize you while you are moving up and down so you can focus on your form. As for my upper body, I have noticed more definition in my arms and shoulders. I am very happy that I purchased the FreeForm Home Gym.
As for value, the construction is quick ingenious and easy to set up an use. It is made of high quality materials and is extremely sturdy.
SMOOTH!!! June 30, 2010 toni bagliani 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
For me, the one word that describes this fantastic machine is SMOOTH! I have been off and on over many years using various machines, free weights and other exercise programs. This machine is the best so far. I'm not a big person, only 5 feet tall with a medium build yet everything is within easy reach for me. When doing front shoulder press work, I simply reach down and flip one of the bands to increase or decrease resistance. When doing back work, you just turn around in your seat. There are so many ways to save time and yet get in a full work out. And the best part for me is how smoothly the exercises become when you are using either the arms or the attached straps. No more faltering. Continuous, smooth movements with any routine. I recommend this machine for anyone no matter what your age....and I am 63. Hats off to this inventor.
